LG Electronics has been announced as one of the UK's Business Superbrands on the 2008 list.
The Superbrand organisation has been running for the past eight years and aims to be a barometer of a brand's performance across a variety of sectors.
Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the Business Superbrands Council for 2008, said: "It is reassuring to those companies achieving Business Superbrands status that they possess a powerful, respected and recognised brand."
He added that this was particularly the case considering the economic slowdown over the past 12 months.
Mr Cheliotis said the brands are judged on "quality, reliability and distinction".
The appliance manufacturer said that the award made it "extremely desirable among many business leaders and influencers".
During the selection procedure a council of 1,500 business professionals and a council of expert were asked for their views.
LG was selected from an original list of 1,300 brands, which is then whittled down to 500 brands which are awarded the status.
Andy Mackay was recently appointed as UK sales director for digitals appliances in an attempt to focus more on the home appliances sector.
