Electrolux has opened its new headquarters in Australia, with a launch party attended by top bosses of the appliance firm, says a source.
Despite the new headquarters being a short distance away from the old ones Trevor Carroll, the Australia and New Zealand managing director, said the opening marked the "momentous" end to an eight year period following Electrolux's acquisition of Email Major Appliances, reports Current.com.au
"During that period, Hans and the Electrolux board shared and supported our vision in transforming the company from a manufacturing-based operation into where it is today a modern, design-focussed sales and marketing organisation," said Mr Carroll.
The new offices, in Mascot, were opened by global president and chief executive Hans Straberg and Morten Falkenburg, the floorcare and small appliances president and chief executive, said the website.
Included in the new state-of-the-art offices are interactive kitchen showrooms, the Asia Pacific design studio and various product displays.
Electrolux has recently announced a 22 per cent drop in profits in Q4 of 2007, compared to the previous year.
