People with fridges older than eight years should consider buying new ones, depending on the level of damage to the appliance.
New fridges are expensive, however, and with the average repairs being low it is often better to find fridge spare parts and repair the appliance.
With lawn mowers the main factors are how old it is and how much it cost, the newer and more expensive it is the bigger the argument for repair.
Other benefits of repairing, according to the website, are being environmentally friendly and not having to learn how to use a new appliance.
Checking a machine regularly can reduce the number of repairs needed to it and can lengthen the life of the machine, according to the Los Angeles Times.
