The message about the proper use of
dishwasher parts for a more efficient home appears to have made it to Hollywood.
Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger revealed this week since she was a child she has been cautious of waste thanks to the frugal nature of her father.
However, she admits she was unaware that her dad was so forward-thinking at the time, but notes this attitude has stood her in good stead for the more environmentally-conscious modern world.
"Now it's just habit," she said. "I don't use the dishwasher until it's full. It's just my dad's voice in my head because they were immigrants. They couldn't throw money around."
Dishwasher parts featured on the silver screen in the Oscar-nominated Anne Hathaway movie Rachel Getting Married recently where the appliance was used in a competition to time how fast it could be loaded.
Renee Zellweger is famed for a number of roles including Bridget Jones.
