Washing Machine Guide - Servicing Inlet Hoses
Servicing Inlet Hoses
Safety First
Disconnect your washing machine from the power supply and turn off water supply before performing this procedure.
Because inlet hoses are on the back of the washing machine, a leak from one of them can go undetected, causing damage to the floor and machine. To service your inlet hoses follow these steps:
| 1 |
Turn off the water supply. |
| 2 |
Undo hose connections at both ends - they should never be more than handtight. |
| 3 |
Remove the washers from the connections and replace if they appear worn or there is water staining around the connection points on the back of the machine. |
| 4 |
Using pliers, carefully draw the hose filters out of the back of the valve bodies. |
| 5 |
Rinse filters under running waters and, before refitting, remove any debris lodged in the valve inlet, making sure none of it gets pushed into the valve itself. |
