Before doing any maintenance on a petrol lawnmower, switch off engine, allow to cool and detach the spark plug cable. If not cooled, turning blades could start the engine.
Cleaning foam filters

Unscrew the air-filter casing, remove foam filters and wash in detergent and warm water. Rinse with clean water, gently squeeze to remove excess water, then allow to dry in the air. |

Apply a teaspoon of engine oil to the filter and squeeze to distribute before refitting. |
