Electric Hover Mower Guide - Maintenance Guide
Electric Hover Mower Maintenance Guide
It is important to keep any electric motor well ventilated during use to prevent it overheating. The air vents and internal workings of a lawnmower can quickly become clogged with grass cuttings, so it is essential to clean the mower regularly. The blades must be well maintained to ensure that the mower keeps cutting cleanly.
| Before each use |
Check area for objects such as stones and twigs
These could damage the blades or be ejected at high speed and cause injury.
Check mains flex for wear and cuts
Do not use the mower if the flex is damaged. Replace the damaged flex with correct flex type and size (1mm2 2-core flex up to 30m in length; 1.5mm2 2-core flex up to 50m). |
| After each use |
Clean motor vents, underside and blades
Also remove mud and grass from any wheels and rollers once it has dried hard. |
| Once every 3 months |
Check and tighten all nuts and bolts
Remove motor housing and check for dirt and damage in area around motor.
Lubricate moving parts
Check manual and apply a small amount of light oil to indicated lubrication points. Wipe off excess oil immediately.
Sharpen or change blades
Dull blades will tear grass, cause excessive noise, and impose extra strain on the motor. |
| Before storing for winter |
Clean all parts of mower
Coil up mains flex carefully. Spray all bare metal parts with aerosol lubricant and apply light oil to indicated lubrication points. |
