Problem with starting the machine

The on-off switch is working (and has been replaced) but the machine still doesn't want to work. Does it need to be plumbed into water supply to work? If no - will replacing the PCB be likely to work?

Some recent Hotpoint machines have an 'anoulogue' pressure switch that may have to be reset if the machine has been disconnected and laid down. To reset this unplug and poor 2 litres of water in the drum, switch on and select the drain function. the machine should empty and then reset. To test properly you need to plumb a supply although you can drain to a bucket during testing (raise pipe end above drum water level and make sure it doesn't overflow).
