My Morphy Richard Steam Iron is leaking water from the base unit onto the floor. What could be wrong?

Answer this Question (2 Answers)

  • I had the same problem and found it to be build up of limescale inside the base unit. I had to take the base unit apart. There is a junction of 2 pipes where the pipe goes off to the iron. The junction has small metal clips around it. The clips easily open by squeezing and you can pull the tubes apart. Inside was completely blocked by limescale. I just poked it out with a cocktail stick and then reassembled everything. Works like new. The descaler recommended by eSpares may also do the trick without having to disassemble the base unit, but I didn't try that. By CH - - 02 October 2016

Check any seals allow to dry and place on a newspaper and refill to see if it leaks when cold or only after use.
