How do I know if the carbon filter needs changing?
I have just moved in to a new home and the outer filter was filthy so does require replacement. Is there any way of telling if the carbon filter needs to be changed?

It is a fair bet if the outer one was in that state the carbon filter will benefit from replacement as the carbon granules have microscopic holes to absorb odors that overtime will fill with grease and stop absorbing smells.
