if brushes have worn down too low and have been scrathing against the computator and have caused the machine to trip will this be and expensive repair and will replacing the brushes fix the problem

( machine was making a scratcbing noise when the spin cycle was on but on the last wash the machine would not spin . switched machine off and put on spin cycle - drum turned once and there was a loud bang from control panel of machine - have not used it since - am now contemplating whether to get it fixed or should we replace it with a new machine ?? bosch washing machine

    Badly worn brushes can damage a control board but this is quite rare. Usually replacing the brushes will return the machine to working order and provided the drum bearings are not noisy the machine may last many years more.
