The rotating plate in your microwave is important for cooking food evenly. When that plate stops spinning on its own you may need to replace the motor. Here's how:

- Unplug the microwave oven from the mains, and remove the turntable and ring.
- Place a towel on a flat work surface, and carefully turn the microwave oven upside down. Remove the retaining screws from the motor housing and lift it off.
- Mark the positions of the wires with tags, unscrew the motor and replace it with an identical microwave motor for your appliance model number.
- Reconnect the wires as marked, and refit the motor housing and screws.
- Set oven upright, plug in, switch on and test motor operation is now satisfactory.
