One of the most commonly damaged parts on a Dyson DC04 is the brush roll. The brush roll and soleplate come as one replacement spare for this model, and here eSpares show you how easy it is to replace both.
Hi, I'm Rory from eSpares.
One of the most commonly damaged parts on a Dyson DC04 is the brush roll and soleplate assembly. Now, in most other models of Dyson, these two parts come as separate parts, however, for the Dyson DC04, they come as one. In this video, I’m going to show you how to replace both.
Now first, I'll need to turn around the vacuum so I'm just going to remove the bin and cyclone, and these filter parts, so I have a nice flat surface to work on.
Now, as you can see here, we have the original soleplate and brush roll. So first, I'll need to unlock the soleplate using a flathead screwdriver and now I can just pull it off. Now, as you can see, we've got the brush roll but, of course, the belt is wrapped around it. So what I'll need to do is remove the belt. To do this, I need to get a flathead screwdriver in there and pull the belt back like that, and now I can just remove both the belt and the brush roll. So I can just put that to one side, obviously keep the belt.
Here we go, new brush roll, put the belt round it, feed the belt into there and now just put the belt back on. This can be a bit tricky but you just need to give it some, there you go, you can coax it around the spindle. There you go, brush roll back on, I'm just going to give it a bit of a roll to make sure the belt goes straight on it. I can just put my new soleplate on, and of course it just clicks into place, and I just need to lock it up using the flathead screwdriver.
Job done, new brush roll and soleplate easy as that.
Thanks for watching.
