How to Replace Flymo Switch Box Levers

Accidentally snapping or breaking the levers on your Flymo lawnmower's handle during use is an all-too-common mishap. Fortunately, you can replace these levers at home by yourself, as long as you know which steps to take. In this article, we're going to show you how to replace Flymo levers on a Flymo lawnmower so you can get your appliance up and running again in no time.

How to replace Flymo levers on a Flymo lawnmower step by step

Step 1: Remove the switch box

First, you're going to want to remove the switch box. Using a Torx head screwdriver, unscrew the two screws at the top of the switch box that keep it connected to the lawnmower's handle.

Once the screws have been removed, you can open up the end of the switch box and pull it away from the handle.

Step 2: Open the switch box

Next, you'll need to open up the entire switch box to remove the levers. Using the Torx head screwdriver again, unscrew the two screws located near the bottom of the switch box. With these removed, you'll be able to open it up.

Step 3: Replace the levers

With the switch box opened, you'll be able to see how the levers are positioned inside. Remove the old levers and replace them with new ones in the same position. The levers can go in either way around and they will simply slot into place. Also, if you found that the old levers used springs, you can simply discard these as the new ones won't require them.

Step 4: Reassemble the switch box

Now that you have your new levers in place, go ahead and reassemble the switch box. Close it back up, then return the two screws at the bottom which hold it together.

Step 5: Reattach the switch box

Finally, reattach the switch box by closing it over the handle and screwing it back into place with the two screws you removed at the beginning of the process.

And that's all there is to replacing Flymo levers on a Flymo lawnmower! Your lawnmower should now be back in great shape and working properly once again.
