How to Replace a Hose - Dyson DC41

It's vital for your vacuum cleaner to function at full efficiency by making sure that the hose is in perfect working order.

If you've got a Dyson DC41, such as this and you need to change the hose or check the current one, changing the old one can be a little bit tricky. So, in this video I'm going to show you how to do just that.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

  What You Will Need:

  Step 1 - Safety Advice

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

Step 2 - Removing Old Hose

The first thing we need to do to remove the old hose is to flick the cover up at the top of the wand, and then lift the wand up and away from the body of the vacuum cleaner. Now press and hold the button at the top of the hose, which allows you to remove the wand from the hose altogether.

Next, we need to press the button at the top of the canister and lift the canister away from the vacuum, and finally press the small catch at the base of the hose which enables you to remove the hose from the vacuum as well.

  Step 3 - Replacing Hose

Now, if you're checking your hose, we recommend doing the following:

Have a feel along the length of the hose for any blockages that might be in there.

Check the material for any splits or tears that might be causing an issue with the suction in your machine.

Or if you're changing the hose for a new one just install it in the reverse order.

So, as we are replacing the hose we need to place the base of the hose back in the base, then insert the wand, while pressing and holding the button at the top of the hose.

Then allow the wand to click back into place, behind the handle and push the top of the hose up to meet it, pull down the cover at the top of the wand, before finally reinstalling the canister. That's it

There you have it! A new hose fitted to your Dyson DC41 in a jiffy. Now the vacuuming can commence in your home, without the trouble of your vacuum losing it suction.
