How to Reverse the Door on a Hotpoint Dryer Published 07/06/2010
Depending on the layout of your kitchen or utility area, it might be more convenient for the door on your front loading dryer to swing open and closed from the other side. Provided you have enough room to carry out the work and another pair of helping hands this is a very easy fix it to do.
In this video Rory shows you everything you need to know to reverse the swing on a Hotpoint TDC30p.

Hi, I’m Rory from eSpares.
In this video, I’m going to be reversing the swing of the door of this Hotpoint tumble dryer. Now this is really easy to do, all you need is a screwdriver and a helper.
Now I’m going to start off by removing the catch and placing it on the other side of the dryer and vice versa with the catch cover. So I’m just going to unscrew this...and this pops out. I’m going to unscrew this one too...and that pops out too. And now I’m just going to replace the catch cover on this side of the machine, and I’m going to fit the catch over on this side.
I’m now going to do the same thing on the door with the latch and the latch cover. I’m now going to replace the latch on this side. Now that I’ve swapped the position of the catch and latch, I just need to unhinge the door and re-hinge on the other side. Now you will need a friend to hold the door while you unscrew the hinges. The hinges have come away from the door. Now what I need to do is fit the top hinge into the dryer on the other side. Now we’ve fitted the top hinge, we can get the door in place and fit the bottom hinge.
There you go, the door opens and closes from the other side. Thanks for watching.
