Hi, I'm Josh from eSpares.

It's vital for your vacuum cleaner to function at full efficiency by making sure that the hose is in perfect working order.

If you've got a Dyson DC41, such as this and you need to change the hose or check the current one, changing the old one can be a little bit tricky. So, in this video I'm going to show you how to do just that.

Safety first: make sure you've unplugged your vacuum before carrying out any maintenance on it.

The first thing you need to do to remove the old hose is to flick this cover up at the top of the wand, then lift the wand up and away from the body of the vacuum cleaner, then press and hold this button at the top of the hose, which allows you to remove the wand from the hose altogether.

Next, press this button at the top of the canister and lift the canister away from the vacuum; finally, press this small catch at the base of the hose which enables you to remove the hose from the vacuum as well.

Now, if you're checking your hose, just have a feel along the length of it for any blockages that might be in there. Also check the material for any splits or tears that might be causing an issue with the suction in your machine, or if you're changing the hose for a new one just install in the reverse order.

So, place the base of the hose back in here. Then insert the wand, while pressing and holding the button at the top of the hose. Then allow the wand to click back into place, behind the handle and push the top of the hose up to neath it; pull down the cover at the top of the wand, before finally reinstalling the canister. That's it!
