How to Replace the Brush Roll and Soleplate on a Bissell Vacuum Published 20/03/2012
Over time the soleplate and brush roll on your vacuum cleaner can become worn and need replacing. Carrying out such a repair needn't be difficult, as explained in this eSpares video.
Hi, I’m Mat from eSpares.
Now the part of your Bissell vacuum that’s in most contact with the floor is the soleplate and the brush roll, they can very often wear out and need replacing. Now I’m going to show you how to do that, it’s a very easy process. For this I’m going to be using a Bissell Powerforce Bagless, but the process is very similar for most Bissell vacuums.
Making sure the appliance is unplugged, turn it over to get access to the soleplate and the brush roll here. Remove the soleplate via these four screws, and this gives you access to the brush roll. To remove the brush roll simply pop it out of the housing, release it from the belt, making sure the belt stays on the motor spindle.
Grab your new brush roll and thread it through the belt, pop it back into place like so, give the brush roll a couple of turns just to flatten out the belt. Grab your brand new soleplate and simply put the screws back in, and there you have it, a brand new soleplate and brush roll for your Bissell.
Thanks for watching.
