A leaking dishwasher often indicates a faulty door seal. Replace your 3-sided upper seal by watching Rory show you how it's done on a Siemens appliance. Helen replaces a lower seal in another video.
Hi, I'm Rory from eSpares.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace this upper door seal in this Siemens built-in dishwasher.
If your dishwasher is leaking from the front, it's almost certain that a damaged or perished door seal is to blame. Now most types of dishwasher have two different door seals in them. They have the three-sided upper door seal which you can see there, and they have the lower door seal which runs just along the bottom of the door there which is really quite difficult to replace. It involves removing the door from the dishwasher.
However, I'm going to replace the upper door seal and that's a lot easier to do. First thing you need to do is just remove the old one, literally pull it out just like that and it will come away, easy as you like.
Now the new seal will only go in one way 'round so make sure you have it the right way and then leave about 2cm at the end, and just begin feeding it into the slot in the dishwasher.
And that's a new inner door seal in this dishwasher fitted. If there is any excess seal left over, you can trim it down with a pair of scissors but just make sure to leave 2cm either side of the seal.
You can see my colleague Helen fit a lower door seal in a dishwasher very similar to this in another video. Door seals for all makes and models of dishwasher are available at the eSpares website.
Thanks for watching.
