Here Helen shows you how to keep your cooker looking like new by replacing knobs, burner caps and pan supports. She also demonstrates how to give your hob a good clean.
Hi, I'm Helen from eSpares.
In this video I'm going to show you how to keep a glass or ceramic hob, like this Neff gas hob looking like new. I'll show you how easy it is to replace a damaged control knob and the best way to keep a hob like this clean.
Now always make sure that before you start working on it that the hob is cool. In order to make sure that you are ordering the correct parts you will need the model number of the appliance, in this case it can be found on a plate underneath here.
So let's replace this damaged control knob. This can easily be damaged by a hot pan or roasting tin and it really detracts from the look of the hob. You just need to get your fingers underneath the damaged knob and work it off the spindle and be careful not to turn on the gas whilst doing so and give it a good wipe round if you can. You'll notice that the spindle is "D" shaped so you will need to orientate the new knob to fit it back on. Make sure the marker on the new knob is pointing to the off position and slide the new one on.
You can also replace the pan holders, the burner caps, and the flame spreaders if they get lost or damaged. Again these parts can be found on eSpares.co.uk and please give us a call if you’re having any trouble locating the right parts for your appliance.
Now a couple of tips to help you clean your glass or ceramic hob. For those burnt-on residues this hob scraper works a treat, but be careful though the blade is extremely sharp but does lock away when not in use. This specialist TOPRENS Ceramic Hob Cleaner removes burnt on food, grease, lime scale and watermarks, but is gentle enough not to scratch your glass or ceramic hob.
Remember all these parts and cleaning products are available for all major brands of hob, and can be found on eSpares.co.uk along with over 500 different brands of garden and home appliance.
Thanks for watching.
