How to Replace the Spool and Line on a Flymo Grass Trimmer

If either of these problems occur, you will need to replace the whole spool and line. Step 1: Remove the spool cover

First, turn the trimmer on its back so you can access the spool cover. Then, remove the cover by pinching the two tabs on either side and gently lift it away.

Step 2: Remove the spool and line

Underneath the cover you will see the spool and line. To remove this, grab and pull the spool out and the lines will feed out of the guides on either side.

Step 3: Fit the new spool and line

To fit the new spool and line, simply put it in place of the old one. Then, unhook the lines from the spool and feed them into the guides at either side.

Step 4: Pull out enough line

Make sure that the line is pulled out enough so it's just about hitting the line stopper at the side.

Replace the spool cover by simply clicking it back into place.
